KIPP: Columbus Campus
A 200 ACRE CAMPUS FOR STUDENTS PRE-K THROUGH 12TH GRADE, SERVING 4,000 LOW INCOME CHILDREN BY 2026. THE CAMPUS NOW HAS FIVE SCHOOL BUILDINGS, AN ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER AND ATHLETIC FIELD HOUSE. THE FIRST SCHOOL BUILDING, KIPP:COLUMBUS MIDDLE, OPENED IN 2014. THE LATEST SCHOOL BUILDING, KIPP:COLUMBUS ELEMENTARY, OPENED FALL 2024.
A BARN IN A NATURAL LANDSCAPE WAS THE INSPIRATION FOR THE SCHOOL BUILDINGS. THE DESIGN GOAL WAS TO CREATE A FAMILIAR AND WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT.
WORDS THAT REPRESENT THE KIPP CULTURE ARE PROMINENT.
COLOR DEFINES KEY SPACES AND HELPS NAVIGATE A LARGE BUILDING.
GRAPHIC TREES ARE USED THROUGHOUT MANY BUILDINGS TO ECHO THE LANDSCAPE OF THE CAMPUS.
LARGE COLORFUL TREES AND SIMPLE WORDS OR PHRASES ARE PLACED THROUGHOUT THE BUILDINGS FOR YOUNGER STUDENTS.
INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES ARE PLACED THROUGHOUT THE BUILDINGS FOR OLDER STUDENTS.
